Drinking in the bar – it’s not changed much in 150 years.
“We at the Queen’s Head are very proud to be a traditional country inn.
Although we have a busy restaurant attached it has not been allowed to take over the original bar where we are still very much a traditional drinking and socialising local pub at the heart of its village.
We have leather sofas to sit on in front of the fire, chairs and tables to sit at and chat and lots of interesting things to tempt you behind the bar.
We have a few popular resident ales, beers and ciders on tap, and guesting ales change with the seasons. A lot of these are locally brewed.
Our tap room contains an increasingly interesting selection of bottled local real and craft ales.
Of course we are liberally supplied with all the usual spirits and stock a well chosen wine list.
There are a selection of delicious traditional bar snacks available for when you feel peckish. On Friday evenings Andy brings out a selection complimentary hot nibbles from the kitchen, some of which are taster-size samples of what is on the menu or the specials for the week.
It can get quite busy on these evenings, so you better get here early if you want the sofa and chairs by the fire!“

We are a rural pub and muddy boots, wet dogs and children are very welcome. We are however an adult environment and supervision of the dogs and children is greatly appreciated for everyone’s safety and enjoyment.
